We returned to St. Peter's on Saturday 19-MAR-04, but it was mobbed so we checked out the neighborhood and found a few stores with some amazing stuff in them:
After this, we went wandering and found a wonderful restaurant, Pierluigi, in the Piazza de Ricci. We ate lunch and dinner there we liked it so much. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The Romans were massing for a peace march that day, pretty much tying the city in knots (1.5 million people) so we took it easy on our last day and returned home the next day. It was a fantastic first visit to Rome. We'll do our best to get back there to see the sights we missed: the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's, and no doubt sights we don't even know about.
